I don’t think I’ve ever had as much fun picking things out and decorating something as much as I did with Sloane’s nursery. This room in a sense was like invisioning my wedding day. I’ve been thinking about it way before baby girl was even a thought. I would sit in this room when it was completely empty and just imagine all the pretty things that would go into it one day. When I was pregnant and finally started working on it, it sort of became an oasis. I’d come home from work and just hangout in the room that would soon have a baby in it. I’d rearrange things over and over again until I thought it was just right for Sloaney babe. There’s a page in the book that sits on the ottoman that says “I ran to my house and made you a cozy den so you had a home”. Which is exactly what I did when I found out that what used to be a thought was actually a thing. I wanted a room that was welcoming and cozy, yet chic and dreamy.

Now, does Sloane actually use the room? Maybe not as much as I had originally thought. She prefers to be snuggled up with mom and dad than all alone in her crib, but there’s still hope that one day it will get use. Until then, we will just play and take pretty photos of her in it.

This painting is my favorite piece of artwork ever. This is actually a picture of baby girl’s heartbeat from my very first ultrasound. An incredibly talented artist painted this and I will forever cherish it. I can not say enough about the beautiful artwork of Lindsey Bryant.

These blankets will always have a special place in my heart. They were all knitted by my cousin and best friend, Tiffany of T Laines Knits. The blanket in the center was what we brought Sloane home from the hospital in and she quickly became attached. I started calling it the magic blanket cause she slept so well with it. She makes the most beautiful, handmade pieces that are all one-of-a-kind and full of heart.
