So a few years ago my mom went to Europe and brought me back this wooden brush. She tried to explain to me how to use it, but it honestly just looked like a regular brush to me. I hung on my bathroom wall hook and used it as decoration. It wasn't until after my daughter was born (19 months ago) that I actually figured out what it did. And that's when my obsession began.
This brush that looks like it's straight out of an especially well-made Norwegian sauna is invaluable in helping with so many issues, but especially detox. Among its many benefits, it's said to boost circulation, sweep away dead skin cells, stimulate the lymph nodes, improve digestion, improve the appearance of cellulite, and help the cells and body in general remove waste.
At the top of this wonder brush's list of accomplishments is stimulating the lymphatic system. When the lymphatic system gets congested, it can lead to a build up of toxins, causing inflammation and illness. Since it is responsible for collecting, transporting to the blood, and eliminating the waste our cells produce, it is important to stimulate it with an act such as dry brushing.

Dry brushing is so easy to incorporate into your daily routine. I do it every morning before jumping in the shower. It's recommended to do it in the morning rather than evening because of its energizing properties. All you do is start at your feet and brush upward towards the heart. Use firm small strokes upward, or work in a circular motion.

Now, I'd like to take a minute and thank my mom for buying me one of the best items I never knew I had.

Thanks for visiting Momosas!
